The 5.2 kWh S1 Pro+ becomes the company’s first two-wheeler model to be equipped with a 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack
Ola Electric has started the delivery of S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh equipped with 4680 Bharat Cell in the Indian market. It becomes Ola’s first model in the country to be available with the self-developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack. With this, Ola Electric has also become the first electric vehicle brand in India to have its battery pack and cell manufacturing process completely in-house. Priced at Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom), Ola S1 Pro+ is the best scooter model in Ola’s portfolio with a 5.2 kWh, 320 km range.
Speaking on the announcement, Ola Electric spokesperson said, “By starting the delivery of vehicles powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell, we are taking a big step towards becoming energy self-reliant. This is not just about the 4680 Bharat Cell, it is also about India’s potential to be a leader in the future of energy and mobility. Our proprietary cell technology helps us create products that offer better range, better performance and greater safety, all right here in India. Designed and built.”
Recently Ola Electric has received ARAI certification from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) under the latest AIS-156 Revision 4 standards. This certification has been given for the company’s 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack manufactured in 5.2 kWh configuration. These battery packs are completely manufactured indigenously at Ola’s Gigafactory in Pochampalli, Tamil Nadu.
Powered by a 5.2 kWh, 13 kW electric motor, the Ola S1 Pro+ accelerates from 0-40 kmph in just 2.1 seconds. Equipped with four ride modes like Hyper, Sports, Normal and Eco, this electric scooter has disc brakes on both sides which work in conjunction with dual-channel ABS, a first in the segment. Some notable styling elements include body-colour mirrors, new die-cast aluminum grab handle, rim decals and dual-tone seat with supportive foam.
This electric scooter can be purchased in Passion Red, Porcelain White, Industrial Silver, Jet Black, Stellar Blue and Midnight Blue. The S1 Pro+ is also available with a 4 kWh battery pack, priced at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The S1 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 4 kWh and 3 kWh battery pack, which are priced at Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh respectively (both ex-showroom, India).
Ola Electric recently launched its first sports scooter, the S1 Pro Sport, which has 5.2 kWh and 4 kWh battery configurations. Their prices are Rs 1.65 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh respectively (both ex-showroom, India). The Bengaluru-based EV startup will start equipping the rest of its scooter models with the self-developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack in a phased manner.
