TVS Motor Company has completed the production of the 1 millionth unit of its popular electric scooter iQube from its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. TVS iQube was launched in the Indian market in 2020 and today it has become one of the most popular family electric scooters in the country. Multiple battery options, varied range and strong sales-and-service network have played an important role in increasing its popularity.
TVS says that iQube has been designed keeping in mind the needs of Indian customers. Currently it is also India’s best selling electric two-wheeler. Since its launch, iQube drivers have collectively covered more than 14.94 billion kilometres.
According to the company, the use of iQube has reduced approximately 5.23 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions so far. TVS claims that this savings is equivalent to planting around 2.09 crore trees. In view of the increasing demand, the company has also continuously expanded its sales and service network.
Today, TVS iQube is supported across 3,300 touchpoints and 3,000 cities across the country. This large network has helped in taking electric mobility even to small cities and towns, where along with sales, service support is also important for the customers.
The iQube lineup has expanded steadily over the years. Currently this electric scooter is available with 2.2 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh, S 4.7 kWh and ST 5.3 kWh battery options. TVS has also continuously invested in EV technology, software, battery systems and production capacity to meet the growing demand.
Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of TVS iQube 2.2 kWh starts at Rs 1,00,822, while the price of 3.1 kWh variant is Rs 1,13,212 after subsidy. At the same time, in the top-spec variant, the company claims an IDC range of up to 212 km. Amid increasing competition, TVS is preparing to further expand the iQube range in the coming times.
