Kia India sold the highest ever sales of 29,112 cars in March, an increase of 14 percent over last year.

Kia India has recorded its best ever March month and first quarter (Q1) in India this year in terms of sales. The company currently sells only SUVs and MPVs in the Indian market and accordingly the demand for all locally manufactured models remains strong.

Kia has sold a total of 29,112 cars in India in March 2026, which is 14.5 percent more than 25,525 units sold in March 2025 last year. However, compared to Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata Motors and Hyundai, Kia is still far behind in the Indian market. For example, Hyundai sold a total of 69,004 cars last month, which included 55,064 units domestic and 13,940 units exports.

Kia says that the second generation Kia Seltos has been contributing more than 10,000 units every month since its launch in January. However, the new model is now facing tougher competition than before, because new options like Tata Sierra and Duster have also come in the market.

Between January and March 2026, Kia sold a total of 84,316 cars, which is 11.6 percent more than the first quarter of 2025 (75,576 units). At the same time, Hyundai sold 2,08,275 units in the same period, which includes 1,66,578 units domestically and 41,697 units exported.

Kia manufactures models like Sonet, Syros and Carens/Carens Clavis in India. An electric version of the Carens Clavis is also available. Apart from this, the company also sells three imported models namely Kia Carnival, Kia EV6 and Kia EV9, which are brought from South Korea in completely built (CBU) form.

The company will launch the Syros EV by the end of this year and may also introduce a three-row SUV codenamed ‘MQ4i’ (which will rival the Mahindra XUV700). With the new launch the company’s line-up will reach 9 models in India. Apart from this, petrol hybrid version of Carnival is also expected to be launched. Currently, Kia has its presence across 390 locations in India through 862 touchpoints and also operates 124 certified pre-owned sales outlets.
