The new Renault Duster gets three engine options with Turbo TCe 100, Turbo TCe 160 and Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160.
Renault has revealed the new generation Duster in India. Customers can pre-book by paying R Pass amount of Rs 21,000. Prices will be announced in mid-March. Deliveries of the petrol variants will begin from April 2026, while deliveries of the Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 will begin around Diwali 2026.
The new Duster is built on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), which has been specifically developed keeping in mind the Indian conditions. About 90 percent of the parts used in it are specially designed for India. This platform has been tested in temperatures ranging from –23°C to 55°C, altitude of 18,379 feet and endurance drives of more than 10 lakh kilometers.
The platform supports 5-star safety standards and is ready for different powertrains, advanced electronics and Google-based infotainment systems. The new Duster will be offered in three engine options. The Turbo TCe 100 engine will be available in the entry-level variant with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Turbo TCe 160 engine delivers 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque and will be available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed wet-clutch DCT.
The Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 will be available for the first time in India with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and 1.4 kWh battery, which can run up to 80% in electric mode in the city. The off-road capability of this SUV is also strong. It has 212 mm ground clearance, approach angle of 26.9° and departure angle of 34.7°. It also gets 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The length of this SUV is 4,346 mm, width 1,815 mm, height 1,703 mm, wheelbase 2,657 mm, ground clearance 212 mm and boot space of 700 liters. Talking about the design, it has a trapezoidal grille, full-LED headlamps and taillamps, horizontal rear light bar, protective cladding and Duster badging with yellow accents. The cabin gets a fighter jet inspired layout, a high center console, electronic shifter and physical buttons for essential functions.
The interior gets Mountain Jade leatherette upholstery, yellow stitching, carbon-finish dashboard inserts and metallic accents. Comfort features include ventilated and 6-way power adjustable front seats (with manual lumbar support), dual-zone auto climate control, panoramic electric sunroof, electric parking brake (with auto hold) and electric tailgate.
On the technology front, the SUV gets a 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen, which supports Google Maps, Google Assistant, Play Store and more than 100 apps. It is provided with a 10.25-inch digital driver display. More than 60 connected features are available through MYR app, while for safety, 17 ADAS features, hill descent control and a total of 35 standard safety features are provided.
Drive modes include Eco, Comfort and Perso, allowing engine response, steering and ambient lighting to be customised. Renault is also offering a warranty of 7 years or up to 1.5 lakh km with this SUV under the Renault Forever program.
