Renault is going to launch the updated 2026 Kwid in the Indian market on July 3. Major changes can be seen in both exterior and interior in the facelift model. Recently surfaced pictures show that the design of the new Kwid will be based on the Dacia Spring EV sold in the global market.

Y-shaped LED DRLs, new grille and newly designed bumper can be seen in the front of the new Kwid. However, to keep costs down, the main headlamp units are likely to get halogen lights. At the rear also, mild design changes can be seen on Y-shaped taillamp, new bumper and tailgate.

There will be no change in the size of the car. Its length will be 3,731 mm, width 1,579 mm, height 1,474 mm and wheelbase 2,500 mm. Also, it will get ground clearance of 184 mm. Newly designed alloy wheels can also be provided in the top variants.

The biggest change in the cabin will be seen on the dashboard. It is expected to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system, better connectivity features, a new steering wheel and an updated instrument cluster. Apart from this, changes can also be made in the center console, cabin trim and switchgear. For safety, 6 airbags can be provided as standard.

The new Kwid will get the existing 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates power of around 68 HP. The engine will continue to be optioned with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. Mileage is also expected to remain almost the same as before. The current model is capable of giving a mileage of 21.7 kmpl to 22.5 kmpl. Currently, Kwid is sold in many variants including Authentic, Evolution, Techno and Climber.

There may be a slight increase in the price of the updated Kwid. Its starting ex-showroom price can start from around Rs 4.50 lakh and go up to Rs 6.50 lakh. The launch of the new Kwid facelift is coming at a time when Renault has recently introduced the new generation Duster. In the coming time, the company is also preparing to launch a 7-seater Duster and a new entry-level electric car in the Indian market.
