Skoda Kodiaq is the only car of the company to come with ADAS feature in the Indian market.
In comparison to European markets, the second generation Kodiaq in India was till now being sold without ADAS features, but now the company is going to add Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to it. Skoda has officially confirmed this almost a year after its launch.
With the new update, Kodiaq will be provided with features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Front Assist with Warning and Braking Reaction, Lane Assist, Side Assist (Blind Spot Detection), Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning System. However, all these ADAS features will be available only in Sportline and Selection L&K variants.
These features will not be available in the base Lounge trim. The Lounge trim is a 5-seater, while the Sportline and Selection L&K trims come in 7-seater configurations. That means customers wanting ADAS features will have to buy only the 7-seater version. Apart from this, the company is now also going to offer LED Matrix Headlamps in Kodiaq.
These features were earlier available in international markets but were not available in India. This feature will also be available only in Sportline and Selection L&K variants. Skoda has now extended the front light strip feature to the Sportline variant, which was earlier available only in the Selection L&K. At the same time, the 360-degree camera system has also now been made available in the mid-range Sportline trim.
No changes have been made to the engine. It will get the earlier EA888 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which comes with 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive system. This engine gives power of 201 HP and torque of 320 Nm. According to the company, its mileage is 14.86 km/litre.
At present, Skoda has not announced the new prices of the updated Kodiaq. Earlier its price was Rs 39.99 lakh for Lounge trim, Rs 43.99 lakh for Sportline and Rs 46.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for Selection L&K. It is believed that after the addition of new features, the price of Sportline and Selection L&K variants may increase.
