Tata Nexon and Punch register their highest ever monthly sales in January 2026
Tata Motors has started the year 2026 on a great note as the company recorded its highest ever monthly sales with a total of 71,066 units, a YoY growth of 47.1 per cent over last year. At the same time, domestic sales stood at 70,222 units (48,076 units in January 2025), which is an annual increase of 46.1 percent.
The company has also exported 844 units, which is a tremendous increase of 251.7 percent on an annual basis as compared to 240 units in January 2025. Tata Motors continues to be the leader in the EV segment in the Indian market, where electric vehicle sales have grown by 72.7 percent. Which increased from 5,240 units in January 2025 to 9,052 units in January 2026.
The Nexon remained the company’s best-selling car, with sales exceeding 23,000+ units. The compact SUV recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in January 2026 and crossed the 10 lakh units cumulative sales mark.

Tata Punch has also recorded the highest ever monthly sales (19,000+ units). It crossed the total sales mark of 7 lakh units in just 4 years and 3 months, which the company is calling the fastest achievement in the industry. Tata’s most affordable car Tiago has also joined this list, which has crossed the total sales figure of 7 lakh units.
Additionally, the newly launched Sierra, as well as the petrol engined Harrier and Safari, also contributed significantly to the overall sales growth. Tata Sierra, launched in December 2025, created a lot of buzz in the Indian automobile market and its deliveries have started from January 2026. According to the company, the production of the mid-size SUV is being gradually increased to meet the strong demand from customers.
Tata Motors is preparing to launch Sierra EV in the coming time. Apart from this, Punch EV Facelift and Tiago EV Facelift are also likely to be launched this year. At the same time, the next-generation model of Nexon may possibly arrive in late 2026 or early 2027. With this, the first model of the Avinya brand is expected to debut by the end of this year.
