Tata Nexon stood first in the list of top 10 compact SUVs, followed by models like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Punch, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
The compact SUV segment in India remains extremely popular and competitive and the sales report for October 2025 clearly shows that every brand showed full strength in the festive season. Tata Nexon ranked first in the list of top 10 compact SUVs, which recorded sales of 22,083 units in October 2025, which is an increase of 50 percent compared to last year.
Whereas in the same period last year, 14,759 units were sold. Nexon’s different variants, engine options and new features have made it a favorite among customers. It is expected that the new generation model of Nexon will also be launched in the coming few years.
In second place was Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx, whose sales were 17,003 units. The car is based on the Heartect platform of the Baleno and is attracting customers due to its coupe-style design, efficient engine and multiple variant options. Its sales have registered a slight increase of 4 percent year-on-year.

Tata’s Punch was at number three in the list with total sales of 16,810 units, which is a growth of 7 per cent year-on-year as compared to 15,740 units sold in the same period last year. This micro SUV is very popular among families and first-time SUV buyers due to its strong build quality, tall stance and value-for-money features.
The updated model of its petrol version is expected to arrive in early 2026. Kia’s Sonet SUV has been ranked fourth in the list with 12,745 units, which is a growth of 31 per cent year-on-year as compared to 9,699 units sold in the same period last year. Mahindra XUV 3XO compact SUV has been ranked fifth in the list with 12,237 units.
At the same time, sales of Maruti Suzuki Brezza stood at 12,072 units, which shows a decline of 27 percent compared to last year. At the same time, Hyundai Venue has registered a growth of 8 percent with 11,738 units. With the arrival of the new generation Venue, this segment may see more movement. Hyundai Exeter sold 6,294 units, but its sales registered a decline of 12 percent. Skoda Kylac and Toyota Tasar have made it to the list with sales of 5,078 and 4,561 units respectively.
