Tata Nexon overtakes Maruti Suzuki Dezire, Tata Punch, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Brezza with 19,430 units in February 2026

In February 2026, the Indian auto market once again witnessed the dominance of SUVs and compact cars. During this period, Tata Nexon has topped the sales chart and recorded sales of 19,430 units. This SUV of Tata Motors continues to be the best selling car in the country. Besides, it has also made its strong mark as the best-selling SUV.

At second place was Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which sold 19,326 units in February. This compact sedan continues to be popular among fleet operators and private customers. At the third position was Tata Punch, which has sold 18,748 units. The pair of Nexon and Punch have been the top two SUVs in the domestic market for a long time.

Recently, Punch has also received an update, in which many changes have been made in the exterior and interior. At fourth place was Hyundai’s Creta, which has registered sales of 17,938 units. Creta has had a strong dominance in the midsize SUV segment for many years. After this, Maruti Suzuki Brezza was at fifth place, which sold 17,863 units.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga made a strong presence at sixth position with sales of 17,807 units. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Maruti Suzuki Swift were the leading volume models in the hatchback segment. The Wagon R sold 14,885 units, while the Swift followed closely behind with 14,833 units.

At the ninth position was Mahindra Scorpio, which sold 14,665 units. Due to its strong looks, high road presence and extreme utility, Scorpio continues to be in good demand in the market, especially the Scorpio Classic model, which is considered by the customers to be a more reliable and powerful option.

The last position in the top 10 list was taken by Maruti Suzuki Baleno with sales of 14,632 units. In the premium hatchback segment, this model is giving tough competition to cars like Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altroz.
