Tata Punch wins in April 2026, becomes best selling SUV – see top 10 list

Tata Punch ranked first in the list of Top 10 SUVs of April 2026, while Fronx ranked second

Tata Punch stood first in the sales of top 10 SUVs and sold 19,107 units, which is 53 percent more than in April 2025. Being available in all three options – Petrol, CNG and Electric, Punch is getting good response from customers. In second place was Maruti Suzuki Fronx, whose 18,829 units were sold. This is an increase of 31 percent compared to last year.

Tata Nexon stood third with 18,126 units and its sales have registered an increase of 17 percent. Tata Motors has launched the new Pure+ PS variant of Nexon in the Indian market yesterday. The special thing is that for the first time in India, a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof has been provided in an SUV priced below Rs 10 lakh. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 9.59 lakh (ex-showroom), while the price of diesel AMT variant goes up to Rs 11.19 lakh.

Hyundai Creta has slipped to fourth place in the list of top 10 SUVs. Its sales declined by 10 percent to 15,291 units. Mahindra Scorpio stood fifth in the list with 14,719 units, but its sales also declined by 5 percent. Mahindra will launch the Scorpio N facelift in the coming months.

The biggest decline was seen in the sales of Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Its sales declined by 17 percent to 14,124 units. It is believed that customers are waiting for the upcoming facelift model. Maruti Suzuki Victoris stood at seventh position with 13,701 units and has received a good response in the initial months.

The most talked about SUV sales report for April 2026 was Hyundai Venue, whose sales increased by 56 percent year-on-year to a record 12,420 units. There was a big jump in demand for Venue after the new generation model and 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.

Whereas Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet stood at ninth and tenth position respectively. Seltos sales registered a huge growth of 72 percent, while Sonet sales increased by 31 percent. Competition in the SUV segment is going to become even more intense in the coming years, as many new models are set to be launched.
