The new Tata Sierra has crossed the 1 lakh booking mark in just a few months and comes with features like 3 screen setup, panoramic sunroof, level 2 ADAS.
The return of Tata Sierra in a new avatar has received a good response from the customers. Since the booking started at the end of last year, customer interest has increased rapidly and now its bookings have crossed 1 lakh across the country. In view of the increasing demand, Tata Motors has started increasing production so that the wait for delivery can be reduced and old orders can be fulfilled.
Positioned above the Tata Curvv in the company’s SUV lineup, the Sierra was launched in November 2025. Its price has been kept between Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This SUV is available in multiple variants like Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+, giving customers multiple choices of features and powertrains.
The deliveries of this SUV started from mid-January 2026 and within a short time the company had shipped more than 14,000 units to dealerships and customers. At present, Tata Motors is gradually increasing the production in its manufacturing plants and the suppliers are also working with the company to ensure the supply of essential parts.
However, due to such a large number of orders, customers may still have to wait for some time for delivery. At present there is a waiting period of about 3 to 4 months on Tata Sierra. Variants with automatic gearbox usually have to wait longer, while deliveries of diesel variants are also taking slightly longer than petrol models.
Color options are also affecting the delivery timeline. Among the available colors, Munnar Mist (Greenish Grey) shade has become the most popular among the customers. Apart from this, color options like Coorg Clouds (White), Pristine White, Pure Grey, Bengal Rouge (Red) and Andaman Adventure are also given.
Talking about engine options, three engine options are available in Tata Sierra. It has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 106 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. Whereas the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine gives power of 160 PS and torque of 255 Nm. Apart from this, 1.5-litre diesel engine is also available which generates power of 120 PS and torque up to 280 Nm. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The new Sierra is built on the ARGOS platform. It has modern design elements with retro styling. The cabin has features like three-screen dashboard layout, dashboard soundbar with JBL sound system, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof and powered tailgate. In terms of safety, it has also been provided with advanced features like Level 2 ADAS and 360-degree camera system.
