New outside look and design
The spy pictures reveal that several new elements have been added to the exterior look of the new Slavia. The front of the car will get updated LED headlights and a new front grille. Integrated lighting can also be provided in the grille, which looks like Kushaq and Kodiaq. Apart from this, new front and rear bumpers will be seen in the car. Newly designed alloy wheels will be given in the side profile and a new touch will also be given in the tail-lamps at the rear.
Cabin and modern features
The layout of the car’s dashboard will remain largely the same as before. But to give a fresh look to the interior, new seat upholstery will be available. A large 10.25-inch digital driver display and front parking sensors can be provided in the car. It is expected that rear-seat massage function can also be added to it like the Kushaq. Apart from this, features like 10.25-inch touchscreen, sunroof, wireless charger and 6-airbags will continue as before.
New gearbox and engine
There will be no change in engine options. It will get the same 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine with 150bhp. The biggest mechanical change will be seen in the 1.0-litre engine. Now a new 8-speed automatic gearbox can be given in place of the old 6-speed gearbox. At the same time, the same 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) gearbox will continue to be available in the 1.5-litre engine.
Potential price and competition
The ex-showroom price of the current Skoda Slavia ranges between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18.19 lakh. With the addition of new features and gearbox, the prices of the facelift model may increase slightly. After its launch in the Indian market, this new sedan will compete directly with vehicles like Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
