The electric SUV segment is going to create a lot of buzz in the next 12-15 months as many manufacturers are preparing to launch new models. Brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Toyota and Kia are planning to introduce electric SUVs in the compact and midsize category and here we have information about them.

1. Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors is preparing to launch Sierra again in the market and two models will be introduced. The first Sierra with ICE (petrol/diesel) will be launched on 25 November 2025. Its all-electric model will also arrive just a few months later, in early 2026. It is believed that most of the hardware and electric system of Sierra EV will be similar to Curve EV and Harrier EV. Also, it can be given a bigger battery pack than the Electric Harrier, so that it can give better range.

2. Mahindra XEV 9S

The Mahindra XEV 9S is all set to go on sale on November 27 and will become the brand’s first all-electric 7-seater SUV. Based on the INGLO Skateboard platform like the

3&4. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara & Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV

A few months ago, Suzuki started production of the E-Vitara at its plant in Gujarat, and now it will be launched in India next month. This will be a 5-seater mid-size electric SUV, which will have two battery options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Features will include ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS and many modern features. In early 2026, the same model will also arrive as Toyota’s Urban Cruiser BEV. The battery and many important parts in both SUVs will be similar, but their design will be different.

5&6. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV & BE Rall-E

The electric version of the Mahindra The BE Rall-E is also expected to arrive in 2026 and has also been spotted testing several times.

7&8. Hyundai Compact e-SUV & Kia Syros EV

Hyundai recently confirmed that its local compact electric SUV will be coming to India next year, but its technical specifications have not been revealed yet. It may be significantly affected by the global inster and will be positioned below the Creta Electric. Kia may also join the race by bringing a compact electric car based on the Ciros, but there is no official confirmation yet.
