In the Top 10 Midsize SUVs list in January 2026, Hyundai Creta took the first position with 17,921 units, leaving behind Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Victorias and Mahindra XUV 7XO

January 2026 saw tremendous competition in the midsize SUV segment. The old veteran models maintained their strong hold, while the newly launched models made a big change in the ranking. Hyundai Creta has once again secured the first position in the list of top 10 midsize SUVs.

A total of 17,921 units of Hyundai Creta were sold in January 2026. Although there was a slight decline of 3 percent compared to 18,522 units in January 2025 last year, despite this Creta remained on top in the segment. Mahindra Scorpio took the second position with sales of 15,542 units, which is stable compared to last year’s sales of 15,442 units. Which shows its continued popularity.

Recently launched Maruti Suzuki Victoris continued its stellar performance and took the third position with sales of 15,240 units. In less than five months since its launch, its total sales have exceeded 50,000 units, reflecting strong customer confidence.

After the update, Kia Seltos recorded sales of 10,639 units, which is an increase of 64 percent compared to last year. Mahindra XUV 7XO, which is a more premium incarnation of the XUV700, stood at the fourth position with 10,133 units. Toyota Hyrider registered a year-on-year growth of 85 percent with sales of 9,156 units.

In contrast, sales of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara declined by 55 percent to 7,030 units, one reason for which is believed to be the entry of Victoris. Tata Harrier and Tata Safari have witnessed a strong growth of 149 percent and 53 percent in sales respectively.

There will be more movement in the midsize SUV segment this year. Many new petrol, diesel and electric SUVs are about to be launched. In the EV segment, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella are going to enter the market soon.
