Toyota has now started road testing the Innova Hycross Facelift in India and it has been spotted for the first time. The pictures clearly indicate that the company is preparing to give a mid-life update to its popular MPV. Although the entire body is covered, many important details have been revealed from its design and shape.
A new grille, updated bumper, slimmer LED headlamps and new DRL (daytime running light) design can be seen at the front of the new Innova Hycross Facelift. Apart from this, slight changes can also be made in the bonnet, while there is no possibility of any major change in its size and front overhang.
Talking about the side profile, the window design and body shape of the current model will remain intact. The test model featured alloy wheels with the current design. Apart from this, door handles, roof rails and ORVMs also appear to be the same as before. At the rear, the shape of the tailgate and roof spoiler are clearly visible. It is expected to get a different lighting signature with new LED taillights.
Apart from this, the rear bumper and some exterior trim elements can also be given a new design, so that it looks different from the current model. Talking about features, the current Innova Hycross is already one of the most feature-loaded MPVs in India and this could be further improved in the facelift model.
The top variants are likely to get an updated infotainment system, new instrument cluster, new upholstery, better soft-touch materials and new connected car features. Whereas features like panoramic sunroof, powered ottoman captain seats, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, wireless charger and JBL premium audio system may continue as before.
For safety, it is expected to get features like 6 airbags, EBD with ABS, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, TPMS, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera and Toyota Safety Sense Level 2 ADAS. The ADAS package will include adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane trace assist, automatic high beam and pre-collision system.
There is no possibility of any major change in the engine. The new Innova Hycross Facelift will continue to get the existing 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 173 hp of power and 209 Nm of torque. It comes with CVT automatic gearbox. Apart from this, the 2.0-litre Strong Hybrid powertrain will also continue, which gives a combined power of 184 hp and is equipped with e-CVT gearbox. According to the company, this hybrid model is capable of giving a mileage of up to 23.24 km/litre.
