Tremendous jump in SUV sales in October 2025, Nexon and Creta at the forefront

In the list of top 10 SUVs in October 2025, Tata Nexon stood first with 22,083 units, while Hyundai Creta got the second position.

In October 2025, there was a tremendous rise of SUVs and out of the top 25 cars, 16 were SUVs. The demand for SUVs is continuously increasing in India. Total sales of top 16 SUVs this month were 2,20,050 units, which is 21.6 percent more than last year. There was a lot of demand for compact, midsize and lifestyle SUVs during the festive season, in which vehicles from Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki were at the forefront.

Tata Nexon once again led the SUV segment with a total of 22,083 units sold including its electric variants, which also includes electric sales. Whereas in October 2024, 14,759 units were sold, which is an increase of 50 percent on an annual basis.

The second position in the list was taken by Hyundai’s Creta SUV with total sales of 18,381 units, a growth of 5 per cent year-on-year as compared to 17,497 units sold in the same period last year. Despite the arrival of new competitors, Creta remains a favorite among customers due to its premium features and diesel engine. At third place was the pair of Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio N, whose total sales were 17,880. unit Is being done. This is a growth of 14 per cent year-on-year and shows how popular the Scorpio is in both urban and rural markets.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx maintained its hold on the fourth position, with sales of 17,003 units. In the same period last year, 16,419 units were sold, which is an increase of 4 percent on an annual basis. Whereas Tata Punch has sold a total of 16,810 units, which is an increase of 7 percent on an annual basis as compared to 15,740 units sold in October 2024.

Mahindra Bolero has made a great comeback and has sold 14,343 units, which is a growth of 46 percent on an annual basis. This was its best performance in the last several months and it is still very popular in rural areas. Maruti Victoris has made it to the top 10 with sales of 13,496 units last month and its CNG variant is in great demand.

Kia Sonet sales also increased to 12,745 units, a growth of 31 per cent year-on-year. While Mahindra Maruti Brezza has been ranked tenth in the list with sales of 12,072 units, which is a decline of 27 percent year-on-year.
