TVS ranks first in electric two-wheeler sales in May 2026 with impressive 64.54 percent growth
The electric two-wheeler market in India maintained its fast pace in May 2026. According to retail sales data from FADA, a total of 1,70,733 units of electric scooters and motorcycles were registered last month. This is an annual increase of 62.8 percent as compared to 1,04,896 units sold in May 2025. At the same time, an increase of 8.5 percent has been recorded in sales as compared to April 2026.
In May 2026, TVS Motor Company was the country’s largest electric two-wheeler seller. The company has recorded total sales of 42,459 units, which is 64.5 percent higher than the same period last year. The ever-growing popularity of the TVS iQube and Orbiter range has played a key role in this performance.
Bajaj Auto stood second after TVS. The company sold 39,202 units in May 2026 and achieved 73.1 percent year-on-year growth. The sales gap between TVS and Bajaj was quite small, due to which there may be tough competition between the two companies in the future.

Ather Energy retained the third position in the list and the company has recorded sales of 28,240 units in May 2026. Although the sales were slightly lower compared to April, the company’s sales more than doubled on an annual basis and registered a growth of 100.3 percent. The popularity of the Rizta scooter range and 450 series has been the main reason for this.
The most talked about performance in May 2026 was Hero MotoCorp. The company has registered a year-on-year growth of 158.2 percent with sales of 19,067 units. The expansion of Vida electric scooter range and growing dealership network have strengthened Hero’s sales.
Ola Electric has recorded sales of 15,141 units in May 2026, which is better than 12,331 units in April 2026. However, compared to May last year, the company’s sales registered a decline of 20.2 percent. Greaves Electric Mobility achieved a growth of 77.9 percent with sales of 7,695 units. Whereas River Mobility has registered a spectacular growth of 245.1 percent by selling 3,720 units.
BGauss Auto also grew its sales by more than three times from last year with sales of 3,297 units. Overall, the electric two-wheeler market recorded strong growth in May 2026 with companies like TVS, Bajaj, Ather and Hero MotoCorp occupying the top positions in the sales charts. The increasing acceptance of electric mobility in India and better charging infrastructure can sustain this growth further.
