TVS Orbiter V1 has a 1.8 kWh battery pack and if purchased outright without battery subscription, it is priced at Rs 84,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

TVS Motor Company has expanded its electric scooter portfolio by launching the new Orbiter V1. This is a new entry-level variant, which has been introduced to provide more affordable options to the customers. The starting price of this scooter has been kept at Rs 49,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is purchased under the company’s new Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) model.

The new TVS Orbiter V1 now becomes the cheapest electric scooter in the company’s lineup and is specially designed for daily driving in the city. With this launch, there are now two variants available in the TVS Orbiter range. V1, which has a 1.8 kWh battery pack and V2, which has a larger 3.1 kWh battery pack. With the advent of smaller battery options, first-time electric scooter buyers are expected to get a cheaper option.

The special thing about this launch is the company’s Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) model. In this model, customers can buy the scooter at a low price and take a monthly subscription plan for the battery. This reduces the initial cost of purchasing the scooter and customers can choose the battery plan as per their needs.

Customers who choose the BaaS plan can buy the TVS Orbiter V1 for Rs 49,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which also includes the benefit of the PM E-Drive scheme. Whereas if a customer wants to buy a scooter with battery in a normal way, then its price will be Rs 84,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Battery subscription plans start at Rs 862 per month and also offer an extended warranty of up to 5 years or 70,000 km, depending on the plan chosen.

For power, TVS Orbiter V1 has a 1.8 kWh battery pack. This electric scooter claims to give a range of 86 km (IDC certified) on a single charge. Talking about charging, the battery can be charged up to 80% in about 2 hours 20 minutes. It has a 845 mm flat seat and 290 mm footboard, which gives the rider good legroom.

The scooter has a straight handlebar design, which provides a comfortable riding position. Apart from this, it has 34 liters of under-seat storage, in which two helmets can be kept. Talking about the features, it has smartphone connectivity with color LCD display. Riders can view incoming call alerts, SMS notifications and other information on the instrument cluster.

The scooter also connects to a mobile app, allowing users to check the battery charge level and vehicle-related information remotely. Apart from this, it gets connected features like turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, anti-theft alert and OTA software updates. To make riding easier, it has also been provided with features like Hill Hold Assist, Cruise Control and Parking Assist. Along with this, the scooter also has two riding modes Eco and Power and regenerative braking technology.
