The updated Renault Kwid will now be available only in Evolution and Climber variants, making it easier than ever for customers to choose the right variant as per their needs.

Renault India has launched the updated Kwid in the Indian market with a new design, simplified variant lineup and new prices. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 4.52 lakh, while the price of the top variant goes up to Rs 5.60 lakh. The company has also given an online cash benefit of Rs 15,000 on the Climber variant, after which its price becomes Rs 4.99 lakh for the manual variant.

The biggest change in the new Kwid is Renault’s new brand identity. Now the company’s new logo has been given in it, while its SUV-like design has been retained as before. Renault has also reduced the number of variants compared to earlier. Now this hatchback will be available only in two variants like Evolution and Climber, making it easier than ever for customers to choose the right model.

No mechanical changes have been made. It has the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 69 bhp power and 91 Nm torque. For transmission, the option of 5-speed manual and 5-speed Easy-R AMT has been given. Rotary gear selector is also available in AMT variants.

Evolution MT is priced at Rs 4.52 lakh, Evolution AMT is priced at Rs 4.89 lakh, Climber MT is priced at Rs 5.14 lakh and Climber AMT is priced at Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the features, the new Kwid has features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, rear view camera, remote keyless entry, central locking, power steering, power windows, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Renault has also maintained the practicality of the Kwid. It has a ground clearance of 184 mm and boot space of 279 liters, which is considered better in this segment. The Climber variant has exclusive exterior design, dual-tone interior, wheel arch cladding and SUV-like styling elements.

For safety, the new Kwid has dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder and 17 standard safety features. The company says that this updated model has been specially designed keeping in mind the first-time car buying customers. Renault Kwid has been available for sale in the Indian market since 2015 and till now more than 4.5 lakh units have been sold.
