India has seen a rise in the number of self-made young billionaires in recent years. Nitin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath, founders of financial company Zerodha, are the richest billionaires among the young self-made billionaires of India. The list of India’s youngest billionaires includes Ritesh Agarwal, Bhavish Agarwal, Deepinder Goyal, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal.
1. Nitin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath
Nitin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath rank first in the list of self-made young billionaires of India. The total value of his assets is more than Rs 24,000 crore. Nitin Kamath, 40, and Nikhil Kamath, 34, founded online share trading platform Zerodha in 2010. Zerodha is India’s largest stock trading platform in terms of client base. After the entry of Zerodha in stock broking, share broking charges have reduced significantly.
2. Byju Raveendran
The next name in the list of self-made young billionaires of India is Byju’s founder Byju Raveendran. His company Byju’s is Asia’s largest company in the field of education. The company’s valuation was more than $10 billion in August 2020 and Raveendran’s wealth has increased by more than 100 percent in the last one year. BYJU’S provides guidance for school education as well as preparation for various competitive exams.
3. Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal
The next name in this list of young billionaires is – Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal. His total assets are Rs 7,500 crore. He founded Flipkart in 2007 and since his exit from Flipkart, Binny Bansal has invested in several start-ups as an angel investor. While Sachin Bansal has founded a neo bank startup ‘Navi’ which is headquartered in Bengaluru.
4. Ritesh Agarwal
The next name in the list of self-made young billionaires is that of ‘OYO’ founder Ritesh Agarwal. He founded the hotel chain ‘Oyo’ in 2013, which became a giant in the hospitality sector within a few years. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the tourism and hospitality sector globally, Oyo is no exception. Although Ritesh Agarwal’s wealth has declined by 40%, he is still the youngest self-made billionaire with a net worth of Rs 4,500 crore.
5. Bhavish Aggarwal
Bhavish Aggarwal, founder of ride-hailing company ‘Ola Cabs’ is included in this list of self-made young billionaires of India whose wealth has seen a growth of 13% compared to the last year. Ola Cabs was established in 2010 and is India’s largest cab service provider company.
6. Deepinder Goyal
The next name in this list is Deepinder Goyal, co-founder of online food delivery platform Zomato, who has a net worth of Rs 2,200 crore. Zomato was founded in 2008. In January 2020, Zomato acquired ‘Uber It’s India’ in a stock deal that gave Uber 9.99% ownership in Zomato.
