Shekhar Suman started his journey in Bollywood with the film ‘Utsav’ released in 1984, in which Rekha was in the lead role. There were some intimate scenes between Shekhar and Rekha in this film, which were much talked about. Now Shekhar talked about his experiences of working with Rekha. He told that Rekha never showed tantrums during intimate scenes and did not even stop him from touching her. Shekhar said that Rekha is a great actress and working with her was a wonderful experience.
Shekhar Suman has been seen on screen again after a long time. After working in the 2017 film ‘Bhoomi’, he now appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s drama series ‘Hiramandi’. Shekhar was seen talking about Rekha during the promotion of the series.
Shekhar while talking to Siddharth Kanan said that a new artist never gets such a break. He told that he had signed the film in just 15 days and had not even opened his suitcase, and within 2 months he was on the sets, shooting with Rekha. Shekhar said that he will always be grateful to Shashi Kapoor, Girish Karnad and Rekha for giving him such an opportunity.
Shekhar said, I have never seen an actress as talented as Rekha. I remember that on the first day of the shoot, there was an Income Tax raid at his house. Had it been any other actress, she would have left the job. But Rekha said that she will continue her shooting work.
Shekhar told that Rekha never showed tantrums during the shooting of intimate scenes. He never stopped her from touching herself, like other actresses did. Shekhar called her a professional actress.
Shekhar told that after the film festival he thought that his career would take off, but it did not happen. He said that after that he did many films and worked with many big actresses, but after a time he stopped getting good roles. In this situation, he decided to take a step back. However, he was troubled as to why his fate had treated him this way.
