In Durg district of Chhattisgarh, a woman Tantrik from Maharashtra duped a young man by promising to increase his money 100 times. She claimed that she could convert his Rs 11 lakh into Rs 11 crore through tantric rituals. The incident took place in Pulgaon police station area. Police have arrested three people including the accused woman.

The victim Ramkumar Jaiswal is a driver by profession and was struggling with financial crisis for some time. To become rich quickly, he asked his friend Raju for help. Raju gave him the number of Manda Paswan, a female tantric from Maharashtra, and her partner Chhotu. He assured Ramkumar that he could multiply the wealth by Tantric rituals.

Scam to convert Rs 11 lakh into Rs 11 crore
Subsequently, Manda Paswan contacted Ramkumar and said that she could convert his Rs 11 lakh into Rs 11 crore. After the deal was completed, the woman promised to come to Durg on Ekadashi. On the evening of 1 November, Manda Paswan reached Durg in an Ertiga car along with her two associates Amardeep Prahlad Damodar and Sanjay Vilas Jamuna. He called Ramkumar and called the bus stand. After meeting her there, Ramkumar took her to his employer’s vacant training centre, where the woman proposed to perform puja.

In the name of puja, the accused asked the youth to bring puja material, a vessel, rice, flour, vermilion and a lemon. He promised that if all the material was completed and Rs 1 lakh was collected, a miracle would happen. Trusting Ramkumar, he deposited Rs 1 lakh in cash. The female Tantrik claimed that the wealth would increase a hundred times. He sent the young man out to bring lemon and vermillion. By the time he returned, the three accused had fled with the money.

The police arrested all three accused.
The victim immediately lodged a complaint at Pulgaon police station. On the basis of technical investigation and CCTV footage, the police stopped the car of the accused near the bridge over Shivnath river. All three were arrested there. ₹1 lakh cash, 7 mobile phones and an Ertiga car were seized from them.

Police said that the main accused women Manda Paswan alias Manda Thamke alias Manda Waghmare (42), Amardeep Damodar (34) and Sanjay Jamuna (28) are residents of Yavatmal district of Maharashtra. This gang had been duping innocent people for a long time, often by changing states and by luring them with magic and miraculous rituals. The main accused Manda Paswan had earlier been jailed on charges of robbery and fraud and was currently out on bail. The police produced all three accused in the court and sent them to judicial custody.
