A heartbreaking case has come to light in Kasargod district of Kerala, which has shocked the entire state. Sexual abuse by 14 different people has been revealed for the last two years with a 16-year-old boy. In this case, the police, taking prompt action, have so far arrested 9 accused, including two government employees. The incident was not limited to Kasargod only, but also occurred in Kannur and Kozhikode districts.
A senior police official said that the accused had befriended the boy through a mobile app, which is mainly for the LGBTQ community. Taking advantage of the friendship, he slowly implicated the boy in his trap and committed the wrong acts with him.
How was the case revealed?
This shocking incident came to light when the victim’s mother saw an unknown man at her house, who ran away on seeing them. The mother was suspicious and strictly questioned her son. The son told the full story of this terrible exploitation in front of his mother for two years. The mother was shocked to hear this, but she did not lose courage and immediately informed the childline about this. Childline immediately informed the police about this serious case.
The police have registered 14 separate cases under the Poxo Act, 2012 in the last two days based on the boy’s statement. The victim said that this exploitation was done at his house and elsewhere.
SIT made for investigation
In view of the seriousness of the case, a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed by the Kasaragod police. The team consists of one deputy SP and four inspectors, who will investigate the eight cases registered in Kasargod. The remaining six cases, belonging to Kannur and Kozhikode districts, have been handed over to the police of the respective districts.
According to the police, the arrested accused are between 25 and 51 years old. The shocking thing is that one of the accused is two government employees, one of whom is also a railway employee. After these arrests, the police have started searching for the remaining five absconding accused. Police said that they are investigating the matter very seriously so that the victim can be given justice and all the culprits can get severe punishment.

The case has once again emphasized how important it is to make children aware of ‘Good Touch’ and ‘Bad Touch’, and in such cases they should encourage their parents or any trusted person to tell.
