'140 crore people support us', Netanyahu told India a strong friend of Israel

Washington, July 6 (). Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described India as his strong friend. Netanyahu disagreed with the statement of US Vice President JD Vance, in which he said that US President Donald Trump is Israel’s only ally at present. Netanyahu said that Trump has certainly been Israel’s biggest friend in the White House, but Israel also has many other strong friends in the world, one of which is India.

In an interview to American broadcaster Fox News, the Israeli PM said, “We also have some other friends, like India. We get tremendous support from this country with a population of 140 crores.” He also said that the huge support received on his Facebook page, especially the activism of Indian users, is an example of this.

In an interview broadcast on Sunday night (local time), he claimed that not only India, leaders of many other countries also personally support Israel and want cooperation in areas like defence, cyber security and AI. He also described President Donald Trump as Israel’s biggest friend in the White House, but said that it is not necessary for him and JD Vance to have the same opinion on every issue.

During this, he also reiterated that he and Trump have similar views on the issue of Iran. However, he clarified that even if there is no nuclear deal between America and Iran, Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons while he is Prime Minister.

Last month, JD Vance said that “Donald Trump is the only head of state in the world right now who is sympathetic to Israel.” He also said that if he were part of the Israeli government, he would not criticize his only powerful ally.

Responding to this, Netanyahu gave the example of India and said that he receives tremendous support from there also.
