Chandigarh. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has slammed the Shiromani Committee and the Akali Dal for using Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Panth as a shield for their wrongdoings. On Monday he said that these people were using Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Panth as a shield to avoid action against their misdeeds. The entire Sangat is angry over no action being taken in the matter of 328 missing forms of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Shiromani Committee is trying its best to save the rich people close to their masters who are involved in this sin. Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjabi and Sikh communities are in deep shock for the last few years as no action has been taken till now in the matter of missing 328 forms of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He said that Panthak organizations and Sant Samaj have been demanding action in this regard for a long time and have also approached the state government for this purpose. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that as part of its moral responsibility, the state government has filed an FIR in this regard. A case has been registered and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case. The Chief Minister said that the F.I.R. As soon as it was registered, on the instructions of its masters, the Shiromani Committee started giving information through the press and started spewing venom against the state government, accusing it of interference in religious matters. He said that the head of Shiromani Committee has admitted that 10-12 scams take place daily in the committee, which shows that the Golak money offered by the devotees is being misused. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the interim committee of the Shiromani Committee, in its meeting in the year 2020, had passed a proposal to take strict action against the guilty employees and publishers in this case.
The Chief Minister said that it is surprising that despite so many irregularities, no action was taken in this regard, whereas the Shiromani Committee itself had passed a proposal to register criminal cases against rich people like former Chief Secretary Dr. Roop Singh. He said that S.S. It was also decided to terminate all services of Kohli & Associates (chartered accountant firm) and recovery of 75 per cent of the payments made due to failure in responsibilities was also approved. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that since Kohli was the CA of Akali leader Sukhbir Singh Badal. Was also providing services as a, hence the action is pending till date.
He said that the Shiromani Committee, at the behest of its masters, claims that the state government is interfering in the affairs of the sect, which is completely wrong, because the Shiromani Committee itself has passed the resolution for criminal action against the culprits, on which it is the right of the state government to take action. He said that in order to protect the influential persons involved in this sin, the Shiromani Committee later withdrew all its proposals. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that during the Akali regime, all the rights of publication of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were given to the Shiromani Committee through the ‘Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Act, 2008 (Punjab Act)’, but now when the state government wants to ensure the recovery of these forms so that no sacrilege or other heinous crime is committed, these people are giving it a religious colour.
The Chief Minister said that Shiromani Committee wants every kind of power, but does not want to be accountable to the public. He said that now they are trying to use Sri Akal Takht Sahib to protect those close to their masters. He said that the Shiromani Committee and its president are puppets in the hands of the Akali leadership, who are using it for their personal interests. He said that they are afraid of the SIT, because Shiromani Committee and their masters know that an impartial and thorough investigation will expose their disgusting faces.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that even though the Shiromani Committee has failed in fulfilling its responsibility of finding the missing forms, the state government will ensure that the culprits of this heinous crime are punished as per the law. He said that elections have not been held for this prestigious institution for the last 14 years and these leaders have not even demanded it from the Central Government. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the disappearance of 328 versions of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has deeply hurt the sentiments of every Sikh.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP had posted cartoons of great Sikh Gurus on its official social media handles, but the Shiromani Committee had not taken any action against them as elections were coming in the state. He said that Akali leaders only want to grab power and are neither concerned about the state nor the people.
Giving examples, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Akalis gave consent to Central University status to Panjab University, SYL, black laws and other anti-state decisions only for the benefit of their families.
The Chief Minister said that when Akali Dal was established in the year 1920, it was known as the party of lions, but the present leaders have transformed it into a party of dinosaurs. He said that the present Akali leadership hesitates to raise the issues of the state with the Central Government, whereas the State Government left no stone unturned in this. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the only reason behind this is the lust for power, due to which the Akali leadership does not hesitate in adopting every anti-state stance.
