Amritsar, June 28 (). Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a joint press conference in Amritsar on Sunday and made several important announcements. During this, Arvind Kejriwal announced to build a grand temple dedicated to Luv-Kush and Mata Janaki in Amritsar. He said that this decision will be a matter of happiness and faith not only for the people of Punjab and the country, but also the entire world.
AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that Amritsar is one of the holiest cities in the world, where people of all religions and communities live together. Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) located here is a center of faith for devotees from all over the world, where people come in search of peace and spiritual satisfaction. Amritsar also has important religious sites like Durgiana Temple and Lord Valmiki Shrine, making the city a confluence of various religious traditions.
Arvind Kejriwal said that it is believed that Lord Valmiki had composed Ramayana here. Mother Sita also resided in Valmiki Ashram and it was here that Luv-Kush were born and brought up.
He said that during Ashwamedha Yagya, Luv-Kush had stopped the horse left by Lord Ram on this land and tied it to a tree. Therefore this place is a center of utmost reverence for the followers of Hinduism and especially the Valmiki Samaj. Kejriwal expressed confidence that the proposed temple will boost religious tourism and further strengthen the spiritual identity of Amritsar.
Meanwhile, on the issue of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and ministers being summoned by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that his party fully respects the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. All the MLAs and ministers who have been called will present their views before Sri Akal Takht Sahib on Monday. Some ministers have been instructed to give written explanations and they will also reply accordingly.
Chief Minister Mann said that he himself had earlier left the President’s program and reached there on the call of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The party respects religious institutions and all leaders will follow the prescribed instructions. After the hearing on Monday, information about the entire incident will be shared with the media.
