A video of a man harassing a lion in Bhavnagar, Gujarat is becoming increasingly viral on social media. It is seen in the video that a lion was enjoying his hunt in the forest, when a man comes near him and starts making a video of the animal from very close with his mobile phone.
As the lion becomes upset with his actions, he suddenly gets angry and moves towards the man. Seeing this, the villagers present there try to stop the lion by shouting from a distance. The lion stops for a moment, and during this time the man manages to escape. This entire incident was captured on camera by another villager and it went viral on social media. After the video went viral, the forest department took notice of it and started an investigation. During investigation, it was found that this video was from the border area between Bambhore and Talli villages in Talaja area of Bhavnagar.
The accused has been identified as Gautam, who was making a video of the lion at close range. The Forest Department has arrested him under different sections of the Forest Act. Forest department officials say that harassing wild animals is a legal offense and it not only puts the life of the animal at risk, but also the life of the person involved. Officials have appealed to people to avoid venturing into forests and view wildlife from a safe distance.
