Questions raised on police action, fury in journalist organizations
Jodhpur. Police Commissionerate District West arrested the youth who threatened to kill the journalist in the West, but the accused was later released. It is being told that he was also wanted in the case registered at Basni police station. The shocking thing was that the accused escaped from the court premises by brightening the police. In this, the suspicious role of Bhagat Kothi police station staff is feared. Journalist Paburam had lodged a report at Basni police station that the accused chased him and threatened to kill him, created panic and fear and abused the mother and sister. Apart from this, the family was also insulted by caste words by telling the threat of life and property. On this, the police registered a case under the SC-ST Act.
Despite serious allegations, the accused was released from the police custody, causing great anger among the journalist organizations. IFWJ, Jodhpur Press Club and Marwar Press Club have expressed strong opposition to the incident. Journalists said that the security of the journalist and their family is in danger due to the threats of liquor contractors and miscreants.
