Jaipur/Sirohi. Acting on Wednesday, the Sirohi unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Village Development Officer (VDO) of Anadara Gram Panchayat Lakshmi Lal and his son Akhilesh Kumar red-handed. The accused had demanded a huge bribe in exchange for granting construction approval on a residential plot and not taking action in the matter of a damaged road.
According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the complainant had lodged a complaint that there is a residential plot in Amla Kheda (Gram Panchayat Anadra) in the name of his wife. On this plot: Issuance of construction permission.
No legal action to be taken in case of old CC road damaged during demarcation.
In return for these works, Village Development Officer Lakshmi Lal was continuously harassing the complainant for a bribe of Rs 1,00,000.
Son was sent away after giving money, ACB recovered the amount from vacant plot
The trap was laid under the direction of ACB Jodhpur Range Deputy Inspector General Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav and the leadership of ASP Rameshwarlal.
Trap action: As soon as the complainant handed over the bribe amount on Wednesday, accused Lakshmi Lal gave the money to his son Akhilesh Kumar and drove him away from the spot.
Psychological interrogation: When ACB interrogated the video psychologically, it revealed the truth. On the suspicion of the accused son Akhilesh, the entire amount of Rs 1 lakh, which was buried in an empty plot of the colony itself, was recovered.
Case registered under corruption act
At present, the interrogation of the accused is going on under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General Smt. Smita Srivastava. The Bureau has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and now other properties at the locations of the accused can also be investigated.
