Jaipur. A dangerous school bus accident took place on the Jaipur-Nagaur-Phalodi Mega Highway at around 7:30 am on Thursday. Due to potholes on the road at Khatwadi turn in Phulera area, the sleeper bus coming from Jobner went out of control and collided with the school bus. At the time of the accident, an 11 thousand KV electric pole broke and fell on the school bus. However, fortunately a major accident was averted due to power cut.
Phulera police station said that the people traveling in the sleeper bus were going from Faridabad to attend a wedding organized in Makrana. At the same time, the school bus was standing at the stop to board the students. Due to potholes on the road, the sleeper bus lost control and collided with a roadside electric pole. The collision was so severe that an 11 thousand KV pole broke and fell on the school bus and the sleeper bus rammed into the chairs in the bus stand. The people sitting there managed to save their lives by running away. After this, the uncontrolled sleeper bus hit the school bus from behind and finally stopped after hitting a tree.
Six children traveling in the school bus were injured in the accident. With the help of police and local people, the children were immediately admitted to the nearest private hospital. After first aid, his condition is said to be stable.
Villager Ramnarayan Jat told that due to rain there was a fault in the power line. Despite the pole falling due to power cut, no major accident occurred. He demanded the officials to immediately repair the potholes on the road and strengthen the safety measures on the highway.
Phulera police station said that the accident is being investigated. The drivers of both the buses are being interrogated and the reasons for the accident are being ascertained. Authorities have also issued instructions to ensure road safety and fill potholes on the highway.
