Action should be intensified against overloaded vehicles and illegal liquor, consumers should get benefits of reduction in GST rates: Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the state government is fully committed to the all-round development of the state and the welfare of all sections. Various development projects and public welfare schemes are being run in this direction. He said that revenue is very important in materializing development plans and smooth operation of public welfare schemes. He instructed the officers that the officers of the concerned departments should work dedicatedly to achieve the revenue target for the financial year 2025-26. Sharma was holding a review meeting of Excise, Transport, Commercial Tax and Registration and Stamps departments at the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday. It was told in the meeting that a target of revenue earning of Rs 1 lakh 69 thousand 627 crore was set in the financial year 2025-26. In order to achieve this, a total revenue of Rs 84 thousand 746 crore has been received till the month of November. The Chief Minister directed the concerned officers to prepare a target based action plan for increasing the revenue in the coming quarter. It should be ensured that the consumer gets the benefit of reduction in GST rates.
During the review of the Commercial Tax Department, Sharma said that the GST reforms made by the Central Government have brought a lot of relief to the common people of the country and the state. He said that it should be ensured that the benefits of reduction in GST rates reach the consumers directly. While giving instructions to run a special campaign against fake taxpayers, the Chief Minister said that a strict monitoring system should be developed to stop tax evasion and implement a transparent tax system.
Permits should be issued for new buses for public transport –
The Chief Minister directed the officials of the Transport Department to issue maximum permits for new buses for public transport so that besides providing convenience to the common people, the State Government can also earn revenue. While giving instructions to take strict action against overloading, Sharma said that overloaded vehicles are not appropriate from safety point of view. Besides, they also cause loss of revenue to the state government. Departmental officers should take strict action against them.
Effective action should be taken against illegal liquor –
The Chief Minister said that to stop the transportation of illegal liquor from other states in Rajasthan, the Excise Department should coordinate with the police and tighten surveillance in the border areas. He also gave instructions to effectively curb the sale of illegal liquor in the state. Sharma also directed the Registration and Stamps Department to simplify the process of registration of properties and provide maximum relief to the common people.
Senior officials of the concerned departments including Chief Secretary V. Srinivas were present in the meeting.
