Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government clarified that there is adequate stock of petrol-diesel and domestic LPG gas cylinders available in the state and there is no shortage anywhere. The government has termed the news of shortage spreading through social media or other mediums as misleading and has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and rely only on official information.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions to the administration to take strict action against those involved in hoarding and black marketing by spreading rumors of alleged shortage of petrol, diesel and gas. He said that it is the priority of the government to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential fuel and gas to the common people and any disturbance in this system will not be tolerated. In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, administrative and supply department officials are continuously inspecting petrol pumps and gas agencies in the districts. Officials have been asked to ensure that the supply of petrol and diesel continues smoothly and there is no hindrance in the availability of domestic gas cylinders. Besides, instructions have also been given to continuously monitor the supply chain, so that immediate action can be taken if irregularities are noticed at any level.
According to the state government, there is sufficient availability of petrol and diesel in all the districts of the state and regular supply is going on from the oil companies. Similarly, adequate stock of domestic LPG gas cylinders is also available and cylinders are being made available to the consumers on time. The administration has also been instructed to keep a close watch on the distribution system and not allow unnecessary crowding or artificial shortage anywhere.
The government also said that misleading information related to shortage of petrol, diesel and gas is emerging from some places through social media. Taking such matters seriously, the administration has been instructed to remain alert and take strict action against those spreading rumours.
The state government has appealed to the people of the state not to make unnecessary panic purchases of fuel or gas and to stay away from rumours. The government says that the supply of petrol, diesel and LPG gas in the state is completely normal and there is no need for common citizens to worry about anything.
