Patna, January 4 (). The issue of objectionable remarks made against women by Girdhari Lal Sahu, husband of Uttarakhand Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya, has now gained momentum. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has strongly condemned this statement and raised questions on the silence of BJP leaders.

AIMIM national spokesperson Adil Hasan has strongly condemned the objectionable statement given by the husband of Bharatiya Janata Party minister Rekha Arya about the women of Bihar in Uttarakhand that girls are available in Bihar for Rs 20-25 thousand. He termed this statement as an insult to women and the identity of Bihar and said that strict action should be taken against such people.

Adil Hasan warned that if people with such mentality come to Bihar, the public will garland them with shoes and lodge a protest. Along with this, he also targeted Bihar BJP State President Sanjay Saraogi and put the BJP’s silence on the increasing incidents of mob lynching in the dock in the dock.

Referring to the recent incident of lynching in Madhubani, Adil Hasan also demanded Ali Ashraf Fatmi, National President of Rashtriya Janata Dal Minority Cell, to take a clear and vocal stand on this issue.

Let us tell you that the leaders of the opposition party in Bihar are aggressive on BJP regarding this statement. Both the ruling party and the opposition in Bihar have strongly condemned this statement. Bihar State Women Commission has also taken suo motu cognizance of the matter. Terming this comment as extremely sensitive and anti-women, the Commission has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand demanding strict legal action.

The Commission said that the comment that girls from Bihar are available for a certain amount is a direct attack on the dignity, self-respect and prestige of the women of the state. RJD Mahila Cell had taken out a march in Patna on Saturday regarding this matter.
