Jalgaon, July 17 (). Amid discussions about Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) joining NDA in Maharashtra politics, NCP MLA Anil Patil has rejected these speculations. He said that it is not right to link Jayant Patil’s meeting with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the Chief Minister to a political alliance. This meeting took place regarding an administrative issue related to his assembly constituency.
Speaking to reporters, Anil Patil said, “Jayant Patil had met the Chief Minister two days ago and discussed a matter related to the municipality of his constituency. This issue is related to the Urban Development Department, so it is possible that he may have also met the Deputy Chief Minister in this connection. He said that it is not appropriate to draw any political meaning from this meeting.
On discussions about NCP’s Sharad Pawar faction joining the NDA, he said, “No such official information has come out from the party leadership. Supriya Sule has clarified the party’s stance and views on various issues in a recent interview. Supporting a bill by an MLA or MP does not mean that he has joined any alliance.”
He said, “Many public representatives in Parliament and Assembly support the government’s decisions on different issues, but it cannot be interpreted that they have become a part of the government. At present, no statement has been given by the NCP Sharad Pawar faction about joining the NDA.”
Patil also gave clarification on Sunil Tatkare’s meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He said, “It is a normal procedure for any MP or MLA to meet the Deputy Chief Minister or the Chief Minister. Public representatives keep meeting the Chief Minister regarding the problems and development works of their area. Tatkare had met the Chief Minister regarding the issues of his area and he himself informed the party leaders about this meeting.”
Regarding Parth Pawar’s meeting with the Chief Minister, he said, “There are going to be sessions of Assembly and Parliament in the coming time. In such a situation, public representatives keep discussing about their areas and political issues. Parth Pawar is also a party MP and it is possible that he may have discussed with the Chief Minister about his area or upcoming work.”
On discussions about becoming the state president of NCP, he said, “They are also getting such information through the media. The current state president of the party is doing good work and has strengthened the organization in the entire state. At present, there has been no discussion in the party regarding change of leadership. According to the constitution of NCP, there is a process to select the state president. First the organizational process is completed at the taluka and district level, after which the state president is selected. This process takes time and there is no such situation at present.”
