Anandpur fire not an accident, result of corruption: Amit Shah

Kolkata . Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a public meeting organized in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal on Saturday, made serious allegations against the Mamata Banerjee government regarding the massive fire incident that took place in Anandpur area of Kolkata. Amit Shah said that the fire at Wow Momo’s factory-cum-warehouse was not an ordinary accident, but it was the result of corruption in the state administration. So far 25 people have died in this tragic accident, while 27 people are still reported missing. Addressing the BJP workers conference and public meeting organized in Barrackpore, Amit Shah said that despite such a big incident, the factory owner has not been arrested yet, raising many questions. He alleged that the factory owner is very close to the people in power, that is why no strict action is being taken against him.
Amit Shah raised many questions from the stage. He said, “This fire was not an accident. 25 people died, 27 people are still missing. Why did this accident happen? Who is the owner of the Momo factory close to? Who invested money there? With whom did the factory owner go on the same flight while traveling abroad? Why was he not arrested even after so many deaths?” Questioning Mamata Banerjee, he said that if the people who died were infiltrators, would the government’s attitude have been the same?
The Home Minister said that doing politics over this incident is shameful and the state government should answer in this matter. He clearly said that if BJP government is formed in West Bengal after this year’s assembly elections, then this entire matter will be investigated impartially and everyone responsible for the accident will be sent to jail.
In his speech, Amit Shah also mentioned the politics of Bengal. He said that the data of the last few elections clearly indicates that change is certain in West Bengal in 2026.
Amit Shah mentioned the 2021 assembly elections. He said that BJP had got 38 percent vote share in that election and by winning 77 seats, Shubhendu Adhikari became the leader of the opposition. Amit Shah said, “Mamata Didi, it will not take much time for us to go from 38 to 45 percent. Remember this, in the coming elections BJP will form the government in Bengal with more than 50 percent vote share.”
Amit Shah took a jibe at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that she has become a victim of optical illusion in her dream of making her nephew the next Chief Minister. He said, “When this dream is broken, this illusion will automatically end.”
In the meeting he also assured the people of Matua community. Amit Shah said that Mamata Banerjee is misleading him by saying that his names will be removed from the voter list due to Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He clearly said that the name of not a single Matua voter will be removed from the voter list. Amit Shah said that no matter what Mamata Banerjee, her government or her party tries, the SIR process will continue and elections will be conducted with a completely transparent voter list.
