The political atmosphere in Rajasthan has heated up after the ACB in Bikaner recovered huge cash worth Rs 2.43 crore from Jugal Kishore Bishnoi, the nominated director of Rajasthan State Seed Corporation. After Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara, now Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Tikaram Julie has also made a very sharp and direct attack on the Bhajanlal government of the state on this issue. Tikaram Julie has raised serious questions on the functioning of the government and the policy of “zero tolerance” on the social media platform ‘X’. Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie took the government to task and wrote in his post:
“The government first raids seed companies in the name of investigation and then sends its people to recover crores of rupees from them; this is what is called ‘zero tolerance’ in BJP rule!”
He further raised questions and said: “ACB has arrested Rajasthan State Seed Corporation Director Jugal Kishore Vishnoi and his relative for taking bribe of ₹ 2.43 crore. These are the same people who were present in the action. Was the government raid being conducted to stop corruption or to extort money?”
Demand for impartial investigation from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Tikaram Julie has directly demanded the Chief Minister of the state to expose this entire system and game of extortion. He said that Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma should make it clear to the public as to where the thread of corruption and extortion is connected? Along with this, he has demanded that this entire episode should be investigated impartially without any political pressure.
What is the whole political controversy?
In fact, this controversy has become bigger because the opposition alleges that the people who were roaming around with the Agriculture Department team as the main faces of the raids were doing deals and recovery of crores of rupees behind the scenes. The discovery of such a huge sum of money from the house and bus of a director of a government corporation indicates that the roots of corruption can be quite deep. The opposition is now completely aggressive on this issue and is demanding accountability from the government.
