Asia Cup: Oman lost by fighting, Indian team won by 21 runs

Abu Dhabi, 20 September (). The Indian cricket team defeated Oman by 21 runs in their last match of the Asia Cup group stage played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Oman definitely lost in this match but his batsmen took a tough test of Indian bowlers. If captain Jatinder’s innings was not slow, perhaps the result could have been something else.

Chasing a target of 189 runs, Oman openers captain Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kalim gave a strong start. Both added 56 runs in 8.3 overs for the first wicket. Captain Jatinder became the victim of Kuldeep Yadav by scoring 32 runs off 33 balls. After this, Aamir Kalim and Hammad Mirza shared a 93 -run partnership for the second wicket. The pair looked dangerous for India, but Harshit Rana broke the partnership by dismissing Kalim. He was dismissed for 64 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 7 fours off 46 balls. Hammad Mirza also scored a half -century. He became the victim of Hardik Pandya by scoring 51 runs off 33 balls. Arshdeep took his 100th wicket in T20 International by dismissing Vinayak Shukla. Oman scored 167 runs for 4 wickets and lost the match by 21 runs.

Hardik, Harshit, Kuldeep and Arshdeep took 1-1 wickets for India.

The Indian cricket team won the toss and scored 188 runs at the loss of 8 wickets, batting first. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bat. Team India did not start well and the score of 6 got the first blow as Shubman Gill. After this, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson shared a faster partnership of 66 runs for the second wicket. On the score of 72, India got the second blow as Abhishek Sharma. Abhishek was dismissed for 38 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 5 fours off 15 balls. Hardik Pandya 1 and Shivam Dubey were dismissed for 5 runs. Akshar Patel scored 26 runs off 13 balls. Sanju Samson completed his half -century. Samson, who came out to bat at number three, scored 3 fours and 3 sixes off 45 balls and scored 56 runs. Tilak Verma scored 29 runs off 18 balls. Captain Suryakumar Yadav did not land at the crease with the aim of giving other players a chance to bat. He also sent Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav to bat. Harshit remained unbeaten after scoring 13 off 8 balls and 1 off Kuldeep 3 balls.

For Oman, Shah Faisal took 2 wickets, Jitendra Ramanandi 23 and Aamir Kalim took 2 wickets.

India made it to the Asia Cup Super 4 while topping Group A with this victory. India won their matches against Pakistan, UAE and Oman.
