On behalf of the court, it has been said that the new policy of the Trump government violates an order issued by him (District Judge Rudolf Contraras) in 2021. In fact, in 2021, the US immigration and customs enforcement were directed by the District Judge to send any migrant to the ICE custody only after completion of 18 years of age. Let me tell you, minor migrants are not kept in ICE detention centers, rather they are kept in centers run by the Department of US Health and Human Services. Many immigration rights groups had requested to intervene in this petition, after which this order of the court came to light.
At the same time, according to media reports, the Trump government is now giving $ 2,500 to the teenage migrants to leave the US voluntarily.
Last month, another judge stopped the Trump government from sending minors from Guatemala back to their country. In fact, the US government claimed that these minors would be introduced to their parents.
However, the government later could not prove its claim, after which the court banned the minors from sending their country back. On behalf of the court, it was said that the Trump government could not prove that the parents of those minors want them back to them.
Taking illegal migrants into custody in the US remains a big issue at this time. There is a lot of ruckus in Chicago these days. The US government has decided to deploy around 300 guardsmen in Chicago.
