Bhilwara. The Rajasthan High Court has taken a strong stand on alleged irregularities in the allotment of plots reserved for the Gadia Lohar community in Bhilwara Municipal Corporation. The division bench of Jodhpur High Court has sought a reply from the Municipal Corporation in this matter and has given instructions to clarify the situation.
What is the main controversy? : In the PIL filed by former councilor Rajesh Singh Sisodia, serious allegations have been made against the Municipal Corporation administration and the Mayor: Violation of reservation: Near Sanganer town, there is an allegation of allotting the land reserved for the Gadia Lohar community in front of the Medical College to other people against the rules.
Benefit to relatives: The petition claims that according to the list of the Municipal Corporation, about 50 plots were sold to the mayor’s close friends and relatives.
Relaxation in rules: It is alleged that the rules were deliberately relaxed in the allotment process so that close ones could be benefited.
Court action: A division bench of Justice Dr. Pushpendra Singh Bhati and Justice Sandeep Shah heard the case.
Advocate Gaurav Shrimali appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
On behalf of the government, AAG Praveen Khandelwal and other advocates sought time to investigate the case and obtain instructions.
The court accepted the request and listed the matter for two weeks.
Reaction of the party and opposition: Former Mayor Rakesh Pathak: Giving a brief reaction on this matter, he said that the matter is currently pending in the High Court, so he will not comment on it. He clarified that whatever order the court makes will be valid.
