If you are a fan of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s cinematic style—especially a die-hard fan of Akshay Kumar—and want to see them in the same classic style whose memes often go viral, then you will definitely like this film. Anyway, after *Dhurandhar*, there was a great need for a light-hearted, entertaining film that can be watched with the family; After all, children *couldn’t* be taken to see Dhurandhar—something that disappointed many and forced them to go to the cinema hall and watch another film. This new film of Akshay Kumar has finally filled that gap.
Story
It tells the story of Arjun Acharya—played by Akshay Kumar—who returns to India from London to his ancestral palace to arrange his sister’s wedding. However, the place is haunted by a demon named *Vadhusur*, who kidnaps brides. How this marriage ultimately happens is shown in this film – which you will have to go to the theater to watch.
How is the movie?
It’s an okay movie—neither too good nor too bad. The special style of “Akshay-Priyadarshan” cinema can be seen in this; Here too he has done exactly what he has always done. This film will remind you of *Bhool Bhulaiyaa* and *Jaani Dushman*. There is nothing new in the story; The first half is entertaining, the interval takes an interesting turn, the second half takes a completely different turn, and the climax is a surprise. While the first half focuses more on comedy, the second half turns towards horror. The film seems quite entertaining at many places, although at some places its pace slows down. Logic is flouted at times—as is often the case with films like this—meaning you don’t have to strain your brain while watching the film. The film could have been a little shorter—you can feel that during the second half—and the VFX could definitely have been better. The music is also nothing special; Except the song “Ram Ji Bhali Karenge”, no other song sticks in your mind. This film will probably appeal to those who like old school comedy, although today’s younger generation may not find it as interesting. Still, one thing’s for sure: this is a movie you can comfortably watch with your entire family.
acting
Akshay Kumar has done a great job; He has played exactly the role that his fans have been demanding from him for a long time. Rajpal Yadav is terrific, and his comic timing is impeccable. Paresh Rawal has also acted very well; This trio of Akshay, Rajpal and Paresh Rawal is truly the life of this film. It is a very pleasant experience to see Asrani *Sahab* on screen once again. Tabu is looking very beautiful in every frame. Vamika Gabbi was not seen in the actual film as much as she was seen during the promotion of the film, while Jisshu Sengupta and Mithila Palkar have played their respective roles very well.
writing and directing
Akash Kaushik has written the story of this film, while Priyadarshan has directed it. There is nothing new in the story; We have seen stories like this before. Priyadarshan’s style of direction is still the same as it was years ago—a style that may not be to everyone’s liking.
Overall Verdict: If you are a fan of Akshay Kumar, then definitely watch this film.
**Rating:** 3.5
