Big achievement in Bullet Train Project, breakthrough of Mountain Tunnel-6 completed in Palghar

Palghar. A major achievement has been achieved in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. The breakthrough of Mountain Tunnel-6 of this high-speed rail corridor has been completed. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav observed this through video conferencing on Tuesday. This tunnel is in Dahanu Road area of ​​Palghar, Maharashtra. According to the information, the total length of this high-speed rail corridor is 508 kilometers, which will provide fast and comfortable connectivity between Maharashtra and Gujarat. So far a lot of work has been completed in the project. Out of total 508 km, 334 km of viaduct and 417 km of piers have been completed. Apart from this, 17 river bridges, 5 PSC bridges and 13 steel bridges have also been constructed. More than 4.9 lakh noise barriers have been installed on the 247 km long route. Talking about track, 308 track kilometer i.e. 154 route kilometer RC track bed is ready. More than 5,400 overhead electric masts have been installed in approximately 125 route kilometer area on the main road.
Breakthrough of the first mountain tunnel out of seven proposed mountain tunnels in Maharashtra has been done, while excavation of two out of eight tunnels has also been completed. 5 kilometer NATM tunnel has been excavated in the 21 kilometer long tunnel between BKC and Shilphata.
Construction of rolling stock depots is underway in Surat and Ahmedabad. The superstructure of all the stations in Gujarat is almost ready, while work is going on at three elevated stations in Maharashtra and slab casting is going on at a fast pace at the underground station in Mumbai.
After the completion of this project, the travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is going to be very easy and fast. This high-speed rail corridor is going to change the connectivity of both the states in the coming years and will provide comfortable, safe and time-saving travel to the passengers.
