Jaipur/Baran. In a major action, Baran outpost of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested Baran Traffic In-charge (Sub-Inspector) Chandraprakash red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000. The accused police officer was demanding this amount in return for uninterrupted transportation of soil and sand in the complainant’s tractor-trolley. According to the ACB, the complainant had lodged a complaint on May 25, 2026 that traffic in-charge Chandraprakash had earlier extorted Rs 27,000 by holding his tractor-trolley. After this, he had demanded a monthly ‘bandi’ (month) of Rs 10,000 in exchange for allowing the tractor to run without any hindrance. After the complaint, on May 26, 2026, ACB got the demand confidentially verified, in which it was confirmed that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 7,000. After the demand for bribe was verified, a team was formed under the supervision of Omprakash Meena, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Additional Charge), ACB Kota Range and under the leadership of Kalu Ram Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Baran ACB. Deputy Superintendent of Police Premchand and his team laid a trap today and caught the accused Sub-Inspector Chandraprakash red-handed while taking a bribe amount of Rs 7,000 from the complainant.
At present, interrogation of the accused and other legal action related to the case is going on. ACB Baran will register a case against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act) and conduct further investigation.
