Farrukhabad, February 23 (). Farrukhabad police has taken major action against the gangster. Taking action against gangster Zubair Khan, the police has attached assets worth more than Rs 26 crore 51 lakh. This action was taken under the ‘zero tolerance’ policy against criminals and mafia.
According to sources, Zubair Khan, resident of Izzat Garhi village adjacent to the city, was running an organized gang. Investigation revealed that Zubair had done illegal business worth crores of rupees through fraud, preparing forged documents and fake GST numbers.
To convert this black money into white, he had purchased many benami properties in the name of his mother Rukhsana. No legitimate income source was found for these properties. The total market value of these properties as assessed by the administration is Rs 26 crore 51 lakh 69 thousand 623. These include Zubair’s huge residential building in village Garhi Noor Khan, commercial warehouse worth crores in Maurshidabad and agricultural land in Lakhanpur.
Cash deposited in bank accounts and a luxury vehicle, whose value is said to be around Rs 70 thousand, have also been attached.
On Monday, a heavy police force led by Tehsildar Vikram Singh Chahar and Inspector-in-charge Madan Mohan Chaturvedi reached Garhi Noor Khan. The police made a public announcement by playing drums and informed the residents of the locality about the property being confiscated.
The administration has sealed houses and warehouses and pasted government boards. Also, the related case number and attachment orders have been painted on the wall. Tehsildar Kayamganj Vikram Singh Chahar has been appointed administrator of all these properties. The Tehsildar informed Zubair’s mother Rukhsana about the action and locked and sealed the house in her presence.
The administration has warned that any property acquired through crime will not be spared. This action has been taken under Section 14(1) of the Gangster Act and the campaign against such land mafias and criminals will continue in future also.
Gangster Zubair Khan is being described as a vicious criminal. According to police records, gangster’s mother Rukhsana’s real brother Khalid alias Rajju Khan is a history-sheeter of Fatehgarh police station of the district, against whom about two dozen criminal cases are registered in various police stations.
Apart from this, it is alleged that gang leader Zubair Khan along with his gang members has also been involved in matters like forging of documents, generating fake GST numbers and generating e-way bills to gain financial and material benefits. Information regarding these matters has come to light in the past also.
