Chandigarh. Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), continuing its crackdown against corruption, has arrested two employees of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Tohana, for accepting bribe of ₹12,000. In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused in the Police Station State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Hisar under FIR No. 24 dated 14.07.2026 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

According to the information received, the complainant had complained to the Bureau that a bribe of ₹ 12,000 was being demanded by Satyanarayan (UDC) and Vinod (Clerk) working in DHBVN office, Tohana, in exchange for changing the name in his tube well electricity connection. After verifying the complaint, Fatehabad unit of Anti Corruption Bureau took trap action. During the planned action, both the accused were arrested for accepting bribe of ₹12,000 from the complainant. The provisions of Section 105 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS), 2023 were fully followed during the trap operation. Further investigation of the case is ongoing.

Anti Corruption Bureau Director General A S Chawla said that the state government is working on the policy of zero tolerance towards corruption and no officer or employee involved in corruption will be spared under any circumstances. He appealed to the citizens that if any government officer or employee demands bribe in exchange for any government work, then they should immediately report it on Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau’s toll free number 1800-180-2022 or 1064. The identity of the complainant will be kept completely confidential and impartial action will be ensured on the complaints received.
