Patna. A case of a sensational attempt to kidnap a famous doctor has come to light in Chhapra city of Bihar, due to which concerns have increased regarding law and order in the district. This incident happened late on the night of 17th December, however, due to the doctor’s wisdom, the criminals failed to carry out their plan. According to the complaint lodged at the city police station, well-known doctor Dr. Sajal Kumar was returning home from his clinic in Sadhna Puri at around 10:20 pm when four-five armed criminals abducted him at gunpoint.
Dr Kumar told the police that the assailants forced him into his car, took over the vehicle, and started assaulting him and his driver. All the masked criminals were armed with weapons.
Dr. Kumar’s employee Nitish, who was present at home at the time of the incident, witnessed the attack and tried to intervene.
However, before he could react, the criminals overpowered him, dragged him inside the house, held him hostage for some time, and drove away with Dr Kumar in the car.
When the car was going towards Sheesh Mahal Hotel via Municipal Chowk, Dr. Kumar saw an opportunity near the hotel.
He jumped out of the moving vehicle and ran towards the hotel, attracting people’s attention. Seeing people nearby, the criminals got scared and ran away.
At that time the doctor’s driver and caretaker were still in the car.
While trying to escape at high speed, the criminals’ car collided with an electric pole near the DM’s residence, due to which the car was badly damaged.
After this, the accused left the car and ran away on foot and took two mobile phones of the doctor with them.
The driver was seriously injured in this accident.
After the incident, Additional SP Ram Pukar Singh, SHO of Nagar police station Sanjeev Kumar and SHO of Bhagwan Bazar police station Subhash Kumar reached the spot. Saran SSP has confirmed the incident.
On the basis of Dr. Kumar’s complaint, a case has been registered at the city police station and a detailed investigation is being conducted.
ASP Ram Pukar Singh said that CCTV footage from nearby places is being examined and technical investigation is going on to identify and arrest the accused.
