Muzaffarpur, January 18 (). Police on Sunday arrested kidnapper Amod Kumar in connection with the death of a woman and her three children in Ahiyapur police station area in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. The arrested person is said to be the alleged lover of the woman.
Muzaffarpur City Superintendent of Police Mohd. Mohibullah Ansari said on Sunday that the police had recovered the bodies of a woman and three children on Thursday from the banks of Budhi Gandak river under Chandwara Ghat bridge of Ahiyapur police station area. After receiving information about the recovery of the dead body, police officials reached the spot and started investigation.
The deceased were identified as Krishna Mohan Kumar’s wife Mamta Kumari, his sons Aditya Kumar (6), Ankush Kumar (4), and daughter Kriti Kumari. Earlier, on January 10, the husband of the deceased woman had lodged a complaint about the disappearance of his wife and children at Ahiyapur police station.
Krishna Mohan said that he had gone to work. At the same time, his wife left the house with her three children. When they did not return for a long time, a search was conducted nearby, but no clue was found. Then on January 12, he received calls from two different numbers that his wife had been kidnapped and if the police was informed, she would be killed.
City Superintendent of Police Mohd. Mohibullah Ansari said that preliminary investigation revealed that Mamta Devi had a close relationship with Amod Kumar for a long time and there was constant conversation between the two on mobile. Many photographs of both of them were also obtained during the investigation. Amod Kumar had called the husband of the deceased woman and informed him about the kidnapping.
During interrogation, Amod Kumar has also accepted his crime. He said the police are still investigating the case as a case of suicide and murder. Police are still waiting for the post-mortem and FSL report. Here, it is being told that the police is also going to interrogate the husband of the deceased woman soon.
