Chandigarh, January 9 (). The FIR lodged by Punjab Police against Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra in the alleged edited video case of former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi has given rise to a political controversy. A round of allegations, counter-allegations and sharp statements has started between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party regarding the video matter.
In this sequence, Punjab BJP leader Ashwini Sharma has fiercely targeted AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann government. BJP leader has described the FIR lodged against Kapil Mishra as politically motivated.

This action appears to be an attempt by the Delhi Assembly Speaker to sideline the investigation being conducted over a video.
The BJP leader said that crime is at its peak in Punjab at present. Incidents of public murders and looting are increasing. Gangsters are extorting ransom at every corner, incidents of chain snatching are happening in every street, and drugs are being sold openly. The general public is forced to live in an environment of fear and insecurity.
He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should focus on handling the worsening law and order situation in the state instead of misusing the Punjab Police to sycophant his political masters.
Meanwhile, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta said on Friday that the Assembly has taken formal cognizance of the FIR lodged by Punjab Police against Minister Kapil Mishra on the basis of unauthorized video clip of the House proceedings.
The issue of the video clip allegedly “insulting Sikh Gurus” by Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi was raised by BJP’s Laxmi Nagar MLA Abhay Verma.
