BJP leader Rupak Sahni (23) was shot dead by unknown assailants in Samastipur, Bihar. On Wednesday evening, when Rupak Sahni had gone to the intersection to have tea and breakfast, unknown assailants riding a bike fired five bullets at him and fled from the spot. Local people took Rupak Sahni to the block hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead after first aid.
This incident took place in Shadipur ward number 5 of Khanpur police station area. On Wednesday, unknown assailants shot dead BJP leader Rupak Sahni near Shadipur bridge. Rupak Sahni was the booth president of BJP in his area in Samastipur. Rupak Sahni was a resident of Shadipur village of Khanpur police station area. According to reports, Rupak Sahni’s elder brother Deepak Sahni is also the block media incharge of BJP.

Local villagers said that after the incident a huge crowd had gathered at the spot. We admitted Rupak to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. It is being said that this incident occurred due to a long-running dispute between the two parties. It is possible that this may have given rise to crime. Villagers say that the fear of law has increased among criminals in the district. Criminals feel comfortable committing crimes openly, day or night.

The family members of the deceased say that Rupak kept receiving threats to shoot him. It is also learned that this incident happened due to open sale of liquor in the area, which Rupak was against. After receiving information about the incident, the police came into action. Late in the night the District Superintendent of Police also reached the spot and started investigating the case. Two accused Sonu and Monu have also been arrested.
