Gandhinagar, April 28 (). The results of local body elections have started coming out in Gandhinagar district, in which a tough fight was seen between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress on many seats.
According to the counting of votes so far on Monday, the BJP candidate won from Adalaj seat by a margin of about 5600 votes and defeated the Congress candidate. At the same time, Congress candidate Manjulaben won the Moti Bhoyan seat of the district by 1374 votes, which gave the party a significant lead in this area.
Congress’s performance was also strong in Moti Bhoyan Taluka Panchayat, where Kailashben Thakor won. Apart from this, Rupesh Kumar Vishnubhai Patel of BJP was victorious from Mandali seat of Mansa taluka. BJP candidate Jatin Nadia won from Chhatral area of Kalol Taluka Panchayat, while in the same Taluka Panchayat, Sarojben Rajeshbhai Thakor got more than 1923 votes and also emerged victorious.
BJP performed brilliantly and won the Chala-7 seat of Gandhinagar district, while Geeta Ben Desai also emerged victorious. BJP’s Parul Ben Dhanrajsingh Chauhan won from Amarjina Muwada seat of Dehgam Taluka Panchayat. BJP also got the lead at the District Panchayat level, where Anandiben Thakor won from Dabhoda seat and Dilipsingh Solanki won from Chiloda seat.
Out of total 22 seats of Kalol Taluka Panchayat, results of 12 seats have been declared so far. Of these, BJP has won 8 seats, while Congress has won 4 seats. Apart from this, Hitendra Patel of BJP was victorious from Nardipur seat and Dahiben Thakor also won from another seat of Taluka Panchayat.
Overall, BJP’s performance in Gandhinagar district seems to be strong, although Congress has also made its presence felt in some areas, keeping the contest interesting.
