Budget should be allocated in the order of applications in PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Hanuman Beniwal

Jaipur. On Thursday, National Democratic Party supremo and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal participated in the meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Industries Department in New Delhi. In the meeting, the secretaries and officials of the Ministry of Heavy Industries and MSME put forward their views before the committee on the issues to be raised in the context of the demands for grants of the department in the upcoming session. The MP raised many questions in the meeting, he asked the officials that the Ministry has mentioned that the target of 30 lakh successful registrations has been completed under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, whereas as per the available information, a total of more than 2 crore applications have been received. In such a situation, a question was asked about the details of the future action plan of the Ministry in relation to the remaining applications. The MP said that when the budgetary allocation for this scheme has been reduced to ₹ 3,800 crore in the current year, which shows that the Ministry is claiming empowerment of traditional artisans, while on the other hand, despite the huge number of applications received, it is focusing only on achieving the targeted registration number, then how did the MP explain this discrepancy by providing all the eligible applicants in a phased manner or otherwise? While speaking on MSMEs, he suggested taking concrete steps to benefit from the medium and said that due to the high tariffs imposed last year, the sector, especially the export-oriented units, was seriously affected. In such a situation, it was expected that the budget of schemes related to skill development, marketing promotion and training would be increased, but in the current year, the allocation for these items has been kept almost the same as in the previous year (almost constant).
